A leader in North Texas Deep Foundations, Mike Phinnemore, occupies the unique space between geotechnical engineering and hands on installers of deep foundations.  As an innovator Phinnemore has been instrumental in developing and adapting augercast piles for North Texas ground conditions.  Having coined the term, Rock Socketed Augercast Piles, in part to dispel the common misconception that augercast piles cannot be installed in hard ground conditions, Phinnemore works daily to advance understanding of deep foundations guided by the principal of the “Right Element for the Ground Conditions”.  Phinnemore’s experience, is both varied with respect to industry and position having occupied the position of laborer, foreman, superintendent, project manager, operations manager, and division leader in markets as varied as the residential construction industry to the highly regulated DOT or USACE markets segments.  Phinnemore, and his team of deep foundations professionals are experience with drilled shafts, micropiles, helical piles, tieback anchors and soil nails, augercast piles, displacement piles and other deep foundation installation methods.  Phinnemore’s work history includes time with Archer Western Contractors, Interstate Foundations, Russo Corporation, and Morris Shea and his formal education includes a Construction Management degree (AAS) from North Lake College.    

Md Nur Basit Zaman, PE, PhD

Md Nur Basit Zaman (Basit) is the Senior Engineer and Lead Estimator for the specialty drilling division of HB Farmer Foundation, LLC (HB Farmer).  He is responsible for all the design and engineering for the deep foundation projects, specially designed build projects. He is also the lead estimator and responsible of HB Farmer’s project estimates.  Basit joined HB Farmer in at the beginning of 2024 as their senior engineer and estimator. Later he took on the lead estimating role alongside the design engineer role.

Prior to joining HB Farmer, Basit worked as the engineer and estimator at Russo Corporation for more than 5 years.  Basit is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas.

He Earned his Ph.D. and MS in Civil engineering, major in geotechnical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
